The Acting Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, hosted the Mayor of the Metropolitan Municipality of Izmir, dr. Cemil Tugay, and his colleagues.

After welcoming the president and talking about the special connection of Albanians with Izmir, Acting Prime Minister Kurti emphasized the excellent relations, as well as Turkey’s steadfast and continuous support for Kosovo.

At the meeting, concrete opportunities for deepening and expanding cooperation between Izmir and Kosovo in the economy, industry and entrepreneurship, education and culture, technology and innovation were discussed, such as also in agriculture, environment and energy. In this context, the important role of the Albanian community in Turkey and the Turkish community in Kosovo was also mentioned, as a strong connecting bridge between the two countries.

In addition to the potential for investment and trade, the meeting also discussed the importance of exchanging experiences in a number of fields, especially in the environment and waste management.
