The Speaker of the Assembly of Albania, Niko Peleshi, has stated that Albania remains committed to membership in the European Union (EU) until 2030, reports Anadolu.
Speaker Peleshi has received a delegation from the Committee for Foreign Policy of the Swedish Parliament in a meeting today at the Presidency of the Assembly of Albania.
In a reaction on social networks, Peleshi has emphasized that the “very good relations between Albania and Sweden, as well as the strong Swedish support for our country’s European path”, is an appreciation for Albania’s progress as well as an encouragement, according to him, to resolutely continue the transformative reforms.
“Albania remains committed to the advancement of negotiations and membership in the European Union until 2030. The intensive interaction between the Assembly of Albania and the Swedish Riksdag promotes bilateral relations and contributes to Albania’s journey towards the family European”, emphasized Peleshi.
Albania has been a candidate country for EU membership since 2014 and aims to complete the negotiations by 2027, while aiming for full EU membership by 2030.
