Albania’s rogue allies detain activist Baki Goxhaj, Edi Rama’s diplomacy reacts

Organizers of the Gaza aid flotilla said on Monday that Israeli forces had seized ten of their ships and that contact had been lost with a total of 23 ships in the eastern Mediterranean.

Earlier in the day, the Israeli Foreign Ministry announced on platform X that “it will not allow any violation of legal maritime blockade of Gaza.”

Ships from the Global Sumud flotilla departed southern Turkey for the third time on Thursday, after previous attempts to send aid to Gaza were intercepted by Israel in international waters, Reuters reports.

A video broadcast shows military vessels approaching the flotilla.

“Military vessels are currently intercepting our fleet and (Israeli) forces are boarding our first ship in the middle of the day. We seek safe passage for our legal and non-violent humanitarian mission,” the Global Sumud Flotilla said on Platform X.

The group said ten ships had been intercepted and contact had been lost with 23 of the 54 ships in the flotilla, saying about 20 Turkish nationals were among the passengers. The ships were about 250 nautical miles (463 km) from Gaza.

A total of 426 people from 39 countries are participating in the flotilla, the organizers said.

We remember that among them the Albanian activist from Vlora, Baki Goxhaj.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has made a reaction to this case, dictated by media interest, saying: “Ministry for Europe and Labor The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has been made aware of the case of the Albanian citizen Baki Goxhaj, who is on board the Sumud flotilla.

Through diplomatic channels, the Ministry has been in communication with the competent Israeli authorities from the first moment to provide complete information on the situation and to guarantee respect for the rights of the Albanian citizen, including consular access, in accordance with international practices and conventions.

The Ministry is following the case with full priority and remains in constant contact with the family members of Mr. Goxhaj, as well as will inform in the future about the further procedures that are expected to be undertaken”.

We remember that this development takes place while the Albanian government, by its choice or under pressure from the USA, has lined up like a few states next to Israel in the darkest day of this evil and genocidal state.

While Goxhaj has been among those staunch denouncers of this alliance that in moral terms puts a dark stain on Albania.

Israel today is neither less nor more, Nazi Germany yesterday. And it is known how those who collaborated with the Nazis were judged and are still being judged, globally or in national terms. /square
