Zinedine Zidane is the new coach of France. The long-awaited decision was made on Tuesday morning by the Executive Committee of the French Football Federation.

Legend Zidane will be in charge of France for four years, until after the 2030 World Cup.

Zidane replaces Didier Deschamps who had peak success with France. Zidane officially begins work on August 1, and will initially lead France in the Nations League campaign. Then comes Euro 2028, the next edition of the League of Nations and the World Cup 2030.

“I have often said that there is nothing bigger than the French national team. So it is a pleasure and obviously a source of great pride to become France’s selector. It is also a responsibility. I want to thank the president Philippe Diallo, the Executive Committee and the French Football Federation for the trust. I am grateful for the 14 years of service from Didier and his staff. I also have special thoughts for all my coaches. I have great ambitions with France,” said Zidane. But he was stopped in the semi-finals by Spain. France is full of stars, while it is considered the early favorite for Euro 2028 and the World Cup 2030.
