In the early hours of this morning, near the border crossing point in Vërmicë, there was a traffic accident resulting in the death of a pedestrian.

The victim is policeman Rexhep Gashi, 59 years old from Malisheva, engaged in duty at the border point in Vërmicë.

For Klankosova.tv, the police spokesperson for the Prizren region, Shaqir Bytyqi, has announced that the person who hit the policeman with his car is a 28-year-old man.

“By order of the prosecutor, the body has been sent to the IML for an autopsy, while the driver of the suspected vehicle, D.D., a male about 28 years old, a citizen of the Republic of Albania, has been detained for 48 hours. The case is referred to the Basic Prosecutor’s Office in Prizren”, the announcement states./Klankosova.tv
