One person was injured by a firearm in an incident that occurred on Thursday afternoon in Prizren.

Today, on July 23, 2026, at around 5:00 p.m., gunshots were reported on “Liman Shala” street in Prizren, Gazeta e Prizren learns.

The police responded immediately by going to the scene.

The regional spokesman of Kosovo Police for the Prizren Region, Lieutenant Shaqir Bytyqi, confirmed to the Prizren Gazette that, according to the first information, after a conversation between a suspect on one side and three other people on the other side, the suspect fired a firearm at the vehicle of the other party.

As a result of the shooting, one person suffered gunshot wounds and was sent for treatment to the Regional Hospital of Prizren. According to the doctors, his life is out of danger.

According to the Police, all the people involved in the incident have been identified. In addition to the injured, the other persons were escorted to the Police Station in Prizren.

Investigators of the Regional Investigation Sector and the forensics unit came to the scene, and started collecting evidence and securing material evidence.

The police, in coordination with the State Prosecutor, are undertaking all the necessary investigative actions to fully clarify the circumstances and motives of this incident. / Gazeta e Prizren /
