Many people have experienced it at least once: after a meal you feel heavy, your stomach swells and your clothes become uncomfortable. It is not always necessary to use medicine, sometimes a simple solution is found in your kitchen.

Nutritionists suggest a natural drink that can help stimulate digestion and relieve bloating: fresh ginger and lemon tea.

Ginger contains active ingredients (such as gingerol) that help relax the intestinal muscles and speed up the passage of food through the digestive system. It can also help reduce inflammatory processes in the stomach.

Lemon, although it has an acidic taste, acts as an alkalizing agent in the body and can stimulate the production of bile, which helps digest fats.

Warm water relaxes the digestive tract and can help prevent spasms that cause gas.

For best results, use fresh ingredients:

Grind about 2 cm of fresh ginger root and put it in a cup.

Add hot water (about 80°C, not boiling).

At the end, add the juice of half a lemon.

(Optional) You can add a pinch of Indian turmeric for additional anti-inflammatory effect.

This drink is recommended to drink in the morning on an empty stomach or about 20 minutes after a heavy meal. It can help relieve bloating and improve digestion.

Ginger and turmeric may not be suitable for people taking blood thinners, having gallbladder problems or being treated for diabetes. Before regular use, consultation with a doctor is advised.
