Representatives of the political parties have expressed agreement that June 7 is the date of the elections, after the meeting they had with the acting president Albulena Haxhiu.
The chairman of the PDK, Bedri Hamza, has said that for them any date within the constitutional deadline is fine. But he emphasized that there is agreement from the majority for June 7.
“For the PDK which wants dates within the constitutional deadlines and within the decision of the Constitutional Court, either May 31 or June 7… The Democratic Party of Kosovo will go to the elections as the Democratic Party of Kosovo, within the list of the PDK there will certainly be new names and other figures”, said Hamza.
The AAK representative, Ardian Gjini has also confirmed that there is an agreement for June 7.
“From what we saw in the meeting with the president of the assembly and with the political parties, there is an almost complete agreement that the date of the elections will be June 7, and we have agreed even though we did not have any special preference”, said Gjini.
Jehona Lushaku-Sadriu of LDK also expressed similarly.
“As LDK we gave our opinion that the date of June 7 be announced as the date of the elections within the legal framework. That was a justification that the CEC requested this date because of the preparations and of course we understand… LDK has opened the doors for the union of all those who have the traditional values of LDK”, emphasized Lushaku.
