The head of the International Committee to Break the Siege of Gaza, Youssef Ajisa, who organized the Sumud Global Flotilla’s trip to Gaza, has announced that the Israeli military attacked an aid flotilla bound for Gaza and arrested more than 180 activists in international waters, 500 nautical miles (926 kilometers) from the Palestinian enclave.

“Global Flotilla Sumud and Freedom were subjected to a complete act of piracy by the army of the Zionist entity on the high seas, in international waters and at a distance of 500 nautical miles from the occupied Palestinian territories and the Gaza Strip,” Ajisa told Anadolu.

He accused Israel of organizing the raid at night, in order to “cover the media aspect of this brutal and barbaric act”.

“More than 180 activists were arrested and sent to the port of Ashdod in the occupied territories,” he added.
