In the Great Mosque in Pristina, Mufti Naim Tërnava delivered the Kurban Bayram Sermon.
Before the Muslim faithful, Tërnava called for their hearts to be cleansed of hatred, division and selfishness.
“Today on this beautiful morning of this great day, millions of believers from all over the world have gathered in the blessed land of Mecca, responding to the call of of Ibrahim, to witness the unity, equality and piety of the Islamic faith. Pilgrims from Kosovo are among them,” Tërnava said. “Therefore, on this blessed day, let us cleanse our hearts of hatred, division and selfishness. Let us strengthen family and social ties, help the needy and become people of peace,” he said.
Mufti Tërnava, among other things, said that for the Albanian people, the preservation of the Albanian language is also very important.
“A nation that forgets its roots risks being lost in history”, he said.
Among other things, he said that the holding of consecutive elections in Kosovo is losing the people’s faith in politics, calling for the political spectrum to reflect.
“Political instability has tired our people and worried our allies”, he said.
