The Secretary General of the United Nations, António Guterres, has said that the world is facing conflicts, divisions and violence, calling for Eid al-Adha to serve as an inspiration for unity and solidarity.

In a message published on the X social network on Wednesday, Guterres emphasized that this holiday is an opportunity to strengthen feelings of empathy, mercy and shared responsibility among people.

“That moment of conflict, division and violence, let us be inspired by the spirit of solidarity, community, mercy and empathy that this holiday brings,” he said.

Guterres also congratulated all Muslims who are celebrating Eid al-Adha around the world.
