The Special Prosecutor’s Office opposed the proposal, while the court scheduled the continuation of the sessions for the months of September and October, Radio Television of Kosovo reports, Klankosova.tv broadcasts.
After reviewing the request, the court decided to postpone the session, while the continuation of the trial was scheduled for the months of September and October.
According to the indictment of the Special Prosecutor’s Office, Morina is accused of 1998-1999, during the war in Kosovo and in complicity with other persons, he participated in the murders, deportations, arrests and physical abuse of civilians in the village of Burim in Malisheva.
The indictment claims that 35 men were separated from a group of Albanian civilians, who were forced to line up, while women and children fled at gunpoint. Further, according to the Prosecutor’s Office, a member of the Serbian police force opened fire with an automatic weapon, killing 34 civilians.
Ramadan Morina was arrested in Pristina in August of last year on suspicion of the criminal offense “War crimes against the civilian population”.
