IPK suspends three police officers for accepting bribes in Prizren

The Police Inspectorate of Kosovo has recommended to the Kosovo Police the suspension from duty of three police officers of the Alfa Police Station in Prizren, after several days of investigations related to police actions/reactions.

The police officers, according to the announcement of the IPK, have stopped unregistered vehicles and motorcycles that were circulating in violation of the legal provisions, initially initiating the relevant police procedures, reports Klankosova.tv.

According to the initial findings of the investigation, it is suspected that the police officers did not act in accordance with their legal and official obligations, not continuing with the previous procedures and allowing the persons/offenders to leave without taking the relevant legal measures. elements of the criminal offense of “taking a bribe”, sanctioned according to the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kosovo”, the announcement states.

The recommendation for the temporary suspension of police officers was undertaken with the aim of not influencing the investigative process and guaranteeing the independence and impartiality of the investigations.
