The Central Election Commission has managed within 10 days to complete the process of counting all the ballots pertaining to the early elections for the Assembly of Kosovo, held on June 7, reports Ekonomia Online.
The last ballots that were counted on Wednesday belong to voting by mail outside of Kosovo and conditional voting as well as to persons with special needs.

All these details were made known by the CEC Spokesman, Valmir Elezi, in a press conference at the end of the counting process at the Counting and Results Center.
“Today, on the day of 10 after the election day, the Central Election Commission has completed the process of counting all ballots pertaining to early elections for the Assembly of Kosovo. At 2:30 p.m. today, Wednesday, June 17, the counting of all ballots pertaining to postal voting outside Kosovo has been completed, while the counting of ballots from conditional voting and persons with special needs is concluded at 18:30”, said Elezi.
Further, Elezi clarified when the CEC will be able to announce the final result of the June 7 elections. According to him, if there will be no complaints within 48 hours about the counting administration from the last day, then the CEC will announce these results.
“The right to appeal regarding the administration at the Municipal Counting Centers (CNC) and the Counting and Results Center (CNR) is a right that the parties have been able to use continuously, within 48 hours of the alleged violation. Even for the administration of counting on the last day, according to the Law on General Elections, complaints can be submitted in writing to the Electoral Panel for Complaints and Submissions within 48 hours from the occurrence of the alleged violation. In the event that within 48 hours there will be no complaints regarding the administration of the counting on the last day, the CEC is ready to proceed with the announcement of the final results, while if there are complaints, then the CEC will wait the decision-making of the relevant institutions and will implement the decisions if they oblige the CEC and only then can I announce the final results”, said Elezi.
Elezi has shown that during Wednesday, the CEC held an electronic meeting, where it decided to recount 185 regular polling stations, the ballots of which were counted in advance in the Municipal Center.
“Also, today during the day, the Central Commission of Elections has decided to recount the ballots of 185 regular polling stations, which were previously counted in the Municipal Counting Centers. This number constitutes 7.41% of the total of 2,498 regular polling stations in which voting took place on June 7, 2026. This control measure was taken by the CEC to address the problems identified in some of the Municipal Counting Centers. of the votes of the candidates for deputies from the December elections of last year, and it aims to ensure that the counting was carried out accurately”, said Elezi.
Elezi recalled the main activities that the institution carried out during the period 8-17 June 2026, after the elections were held.
According to him, in the 38 Municipal Counting Centers, the verification of the results of the political subjects from the forms filled in 2,498 regular polling stations, as well as the counting of votes for MP candidates from these polling stations.
Meanwhile, the Counting and Results Center has developed the counting of ballots from the voting in Kosovo’s diplomatic missions. It is about 47 polling stations located in 30 diplomatic missions, where on June 6, about 23,000 citizens of Kosovo voted. Likewise, the counting of about 83,000 ballots from voting by mail has been carried out.
Elezi has announced that the counting of about 8,700 conditional ballots from 52 conditional polling stations has also been carried out at the National Election Commission, as well as the counting of about 1,840 ballots from the voting of persons with special needs.
