At least eight Palestinians have been killed by Israeli strikes in different parts of the Gaza Strip, including three workers of a community kitchen in Deir al-Balah, international media reports.

According to reports from Gaza, the attack in the central city of Deir al-Balah targeted a community kitchen serving local residents. Al Jazeera’s reporter in Gaza stated that the three victims were employees of this kitchen.

She said that the attack shows that Israel is hitting not only civilians, but also organizations that provide aid and services to the community in Gaza.

The Hamas movement described the attack as a “war crime” and part of what it called “ongoing genocide” against Palestinians in Gaza. In its statement, Hamas also criticized the silence of the international community.

Other Israeli attacks were also reported in Khan Yunis and Beit Lahia.

According to the Ministry of Health in Gaza, the number of Palestinians killed since the start of the war on October 7, 2023 has reached 72,760, while the wounded are over 172,000. The ministry said at least 871 people have been killed since the ceasefire came into effect last October.

The Israeli military said it controls about 60 percent of Gaza’s territory through a buffer zone called the “yellow line.” She also claimed that a gunman who posed a threat to soldiers, as well as a Hamas commander identified as Bahaa Baroud, had been killed during recent operations. Hamas has not yet responded to this claim. /message
