Millions of pilgrims spent the night in Muzdalifah in prayer and spiritual devotion, before heading to Mina to perform the ritual of throwing stones during the days of Hajj.

Muzdalifah is one of the holy places of the Hajj, where pilgrims stay on the night of 10 Dhul-Hijjah after leaving Arafat. There they perform the combined and shortened evening and morning prayers, following the tradition of the Prophet Muhammad.

This place is located between Arafat and Mina, about eight kilometers from the Holy Kaaba in Mecca. Muzdelife covers an area of more than 11.6 million square meters and has the capacity to host over two million hajjilars. The area is open and there are no permanent buildings, preserving its religious character.

Muzdalifa has special importance in Islam and is also mentioned in the Koran, where believers are commanded to remember Allah after leaving Arafat. In its center is El-Mesh’ar El-Haram, where pilgrims gather every year for prayer, meditation and worship.

In addition to its spiritual importance, Muzdalifah is also a major stop on the pilgrimage. It is there that the pilgrims collect the small stones that are then used in the symbolic ritual of shooting Satan in Mina. According to Islamic tradition, the Prophet Muhammad also spent the night in Muzdalifah and collected stones for this ritual. /message
