The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Glauk Konjufca, after the meeting held on Thursday with the Deputy Prime Minister and the Minister of Foreign Affairs, European Affairs and Development Cooperation of Belgium, Maxime Prévot, stated that the deepening of political and economic cooperation between the two countries was discussed.

In the joint press conference, Konjufca announced that he expressed his appreciation to the Belgian minister for the support of Belgium during the process of lifting the European Union’s measures against Kosovo.

“During the productive meeting we had, we discussed the further deepening of political, economic and all other fields of our countries’ cooperation, especially in foreign policy, the field of security and defense. In the field of foreign policy, Belgium is one of the most important partners within the European Union, and in this spirit I expressed my highest appreciation to the Deputy Prime Minister Prévot for their support during the process for the removal of EU measures against Kosovo, which was a very important step forward in our European aspirations”, he said.

Konjufca added that at the meeting he emphasized Kosovo’s expectations in the integration processes, especially regarding receiving the questionnaire from the European Union.

“At the same time, I emphasized the expectation that Kosovo has regarding the integration processes, in the first place receiving the questionnaire from to the EU, an issue that has remained unresolved for about three and a half years. The support that Belgium has given in Kosovo’s integration processes so far has been very important and we expect that this will continue in the future stages, both towards the Council of Europe and in clarifying our path towards the European Union,” Konjufca stated.
