The Acting Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti has announced that Kosovo has benefited 206.4 million euros from EU funds.
He said that on Tuesday the European Union announced that the IPA Committee has approved the projects proposed by Kosovo within the IPA 2026 and IPA 2027 programs.
Kurti said that after the approval by the European Commission and after signing and upon the ratification of the Financial Agreement by the Assembly, the projects will begin implementation.
“The funds will support the country’s priority areas: Environment and climate – 44 million euros; Energy – 34.5 million euros; Border management and migration – 30.5 million euros; Competitiveness, education and employment – 31.8 million euros; Good governance and alignment with the EU – 24.7 million euros; Rule of law – 15 million euros”, wrote Kurti on Facebook.
He announced that half of the funds will go to infrastructural investments.
“Most of the projects will be carried out in combination with other development partners and with co-financing from our institutions”, Kurti wrote on Facebook.
In addition to the IPA 2026 and IPA 2027 projects, as announced by the acting prime minister, 3 grants from the Investment Framework for the Western Balkans (ËBIF), in a total value of 25.9 million euros.
“Ibër-Lepenc hydro system – technical assistance for the preparation of infrastructure investment; – Qafë e Duhlë-Banulë highway – technical assistance for the preparation of the highway segment; – Waste water treatment plant in Podujevë – investment grant of 24.3 million euros, in cooperation with EBRD”. announced Kurti.
