The arrest was made in Gjakovë, in the framework of the implementation of the court decisions.

According to the announcement of the Kosovo Police, the action was carried out on July 6, 2026 by the Unit for Liaison with the Courts within the Police Station in Gjakovë.

“The Unit for Liaison with the Courts, within the Police Station in Gjakovë, on 06.07.2026, has successfully located and arrested a person wanted with an arrest warrant issued by the Basic Court in Pristina”, says the Police announcement.

According to the authorities, the arrest warrant was issued for the criminal offense of “Import, export, supply, transportation, production, exchange, mediation or unauthorized sale of weapons or explosives.”

The police announced that, after the completion of the procedures, the arrested person was sent to a correctional institution for serving the sentence.

“After the completion of the police procedures, the person was sent to the correctional institution to serve a prison sentence of three (3) years, including the period spent in custody”, the announcement emphasizes.

In the end, the Regional Police Directorate in Gjakovë reiterated its commitment to the implementation of the decisions of the justice bodies.

“The Regional Police Directorate in Gvajako remains maximally committed to the implementation of the decisions of the justice bodies and the execution of arrest warrants, with the aim of strengthening order, public safety and the rule of law”, concludes the announcement.
