The President of Russia, Vladimir Putin, believes that the war in Ukraine will end soon.
“I think the issue is ending,” he told reporters about the war in Ukraine, at a conference after the Victory Day celebrations.
When asked about Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, Putin said that a meeting with him would be possible only after a lasting peace agreement was reached.
Putin was speaking in the Kremlin after Russia held its Victory Day parade. The May 9 national holiday celebrates the Soviet Union’s victory over Nazi Germany in World War II and pays tribute to the 27 million Soviet citizens who lost their lives in the war.
