US President Donald Trump said that American representatives are expected to arrive in Islamabad tomorrow evening for negotiations with Iran, reports Anadolu.
“My representatives are going to Islamabad, Pakistan. They will be there tomorrow evening for negotiations,” Trump wrote in a post on his account on the Truth Social network.
“Iran decided yesterday to fire in the Strait of Hormuz — a total violation of our agreement on truce!” he wrote, claiming that Iranian forces had targeted ships in this strategic sea corridor, including a French ship and a British-flagged cargo ship.
Trump also stated that Iran has threatened to close this strategic seaway, saying such action would be harmful to Iran itself.
“They are helping us without knowing it, and they are the ones losing with the passage closed, $500 million a day,” he wrote. he said.
Trump said global shipping lanes are continuing to supply the U.S., adding that ships destined for America are heading to ports in Texas, Louisiana and Alaska.
“We are offering a very fair and reasonable deal, and I hope they accept it, because if they don’t, the United States will destroy every power plant and every bridge in Iran. No more tolerance,” he wrote.
He added that previous administrations had failed to address the Iran issue for decades and reiterated a tough stance, saying he hoped Tehran would accept the proposal to avoid further escalation.
He also wrote: “It’s time for Iran’s killing machine to end.”
