Saturday, May 30th 2026

State police in New Jersey have made several arrests after advancing toward anti-Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) protesters gathered outside the Delaney Hall immigration detention center in Newark, Anadolu reports.

The clash began after demonstrators attempted to set up barricades near the facility, leading to clashes with law enforcement.

Police, equipped with riot shields, moved toward protesters while authorities tried to clear the area around the detention center.

During the operation, law enforcement also used crowd control measures, including smoke bombs.

The protest was part of ongoing demonstrations against immigration detention policies and conditions at the center.
