A new wave of rocket and drone attacks hit the US Embassy compound in Baghdad early Tuesday, triggering sirens, Anadolu reports.
Details about the extent of damage and any possible injuries from the attacks were not immediately available, according to a report by the Shafaq news agency.
The development came hours after a drone hit the top fence of the Al-Rasheed Hotel in the Area. Green, resulting in no injuries or damage.
Hostilities in the region have escalated since Israel and the US launched joint attacks on Iran on February 28, killing around 1,300 people so far, including then-Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
Iran has retaliated with drone and missile attacks that have targeted Israel, Jordan, Iraq and Gulf countries that host US military assets, causing casualties and infrastructure damage while disrupting global markets and aviation.
