Russia and Ukraine exchange 193 prisoners of war

Russia and Ukraine have exchanged 193 prisoners of war, reports Anadolu.

Russia’s Ministry of Defense said that the United Arab Emirates and the US acted as humanitarian mediators in this exchange.

According to the Russian ministry, all servicemen are receiving the necessary psychological and medical assistance in Belarus and will then be transferred to Russia for further treatment.

For his part, the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that “193 Ukrainian fighters are returning home as part of the exchange of prisoners”, He added that among them are members of the Armed Forces, National Guard, Border Service, National Police and State Special Transport Service, including persons against whom Russia has initiated criminal proceedings, as well as wounded. Recently, Russia and Ukraine exchanged 175 prisoners. each on April 11.
