The mayor of Skenderaj, Sami Lushtaku, has announced that he has filed a defamation lawsuit against the acting Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, regarding the statements made on the KTV show “Interaktiv”.
Kurti said on Monday on “Interaktiv” that Lushtaku wanted to hit his escort with an official car during the campaign in Skenderaj for the February elections. 2025.
“Only I and my close protection were there. Do you think that there was something with one of my bodyguards, only then we will be able to say that it did not happen with me. Then there is a police process for this, but he was not arrested for this, although there was an attempt to cause danger”, said Kurti on Monday night.
The lawsuit was submitted to the Basic Court of Pristina.
Lushtaku, through his lawyer, on Tuesday had given 24 hours for Kurti to retract his statements and apologize.
“Today, through my lawyer, I filed a defamation lawsuit against Albin Kurti, after untrue and tendentious statements against me. I will not allow my name, my contribution and my dignity to be used for political propaganda, public fraud and low defamation. This is a clear answer to any attempt at political lynching. Anyone who slanders him with falsehoods will face the same action and be held accountable before the law!” – wrote Lushtaku on Facebook.
