Three Israelis were wounded Thursday after an explosive drone fired by Hezbollah hit northern Israel near the Lebanese border, according to Israeli media and the military, Anadolu reports.
The attack comes as Lebanon and Israel are set to hold a third round of US-brokered talks in Washington on Thursday.
Yedioth Ahronoth daily reported that the drone exploded in a parking lot. in the city of Rosh Hanikra, injuring three people.
According to the news, two of the injured were in serious condition, while a third received minor injuries. All were transferred to the Galilee Medical Center in Nahariya for treatment.
The Israeli military confirmed in a statement that an explosive drone fired by Hezbollah had fallen inside Israeli territory near the border with Lebanon.
The military added that several people were also injured and evacuated to hospital for medical treatment.
Since March 2, Israeli strikes in Lebanon have killed more than 2,896 people, injured more than 8,824 and displaced more than 1.6 million, about a fifth of the country’s population, according to Lebanese officials.
The Israeli military continues daily attacks in Lebanon and exchanges of fire with Hezbollah despite a ceasefire that was announced on April 17 and later extended until May 17.
