Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has said that Israel is “violating the common values of humanity through the crimes against humanity it has committed,” reports Anadolu.
In a post on social media, Turkey’s Communications Director, Burhanettin Duran, said that Erdogan has written an article titled “The Key to Peace in Eurasia: The Turkish World” for Kazakhstan’s Kazinform news agency.
The article was published after the visit of Erdogan in Astana for the sixth meeting of the Turkey-Kazakhstan High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council.
Erdogan has said that regional conflicts and crises today pose comprehensive challenges to global security, economic prosperity and stability.
He has emphasized that the global system is undergoing a serious test in the face of new asymmetric risks stemming from geopolitical rivalry, disruptions in energy security and financial instability related to them.
Erdogan has also underlined that the great transformation driven by artificial intelligence has further deepened the fragility of the global system.
“Indeed, as we have emphasized for a long time, these challenges reveal the shortcomings of the current international system and global governance mechanisms, as well as the urgent need for reforms”, he said.
Recalling his speech at the UN General Assembly in In 2014, Erdogan emphasized the inequities embedded in the global system, saying that the message that “the world is bigger than five” is even more important today.
He said that the humanitarian disaster in Gaza has highlighted the shortcomings of the current international order.
Erdogan stated that Turkey believes that global and regional crises can only be resolved through an order based on “enforceable rules”, stressing that Ankara continues to take responsibility through peace diplomacy, mediation efforts and “faith-based dialogue” to promote global peace and prosperity.
He has written that stronger bilateral, regional and global cooperation is essential for a “fairer, more inclusive and more stable” international order, stressing that disputes should be addressed through “regional ownership” and cooperation with neighboring countries and organizations, especially the Organization of Turkish States.
Erdogan has said that Turkey’s partnership with Kazakhstan occupies “an extraordinary place” in its foreign policy, especially in addressing the structural challenges facing the UN Security Council, advancing conflict resolution and ensuring long-term economic prosperity.
– Trade target of “15 billion dollars”
“In 1991, Turkey became the first country to recognize Kazakhstan on the very day it declared independence,” Erdogan wrote, adding that relations “which draw strength from our common history and our cultural and spiritual ties, have been continuously strengthened every day”.
He has said that bilateral relations entered “a new phase” in the 2000s, while the trade volume “is approaching 10 billion dollars”, Turkish investments in Kazakhstan “have reached almost 6 billion dollars” and Turkish contractors have completed “approximately 550 projects in Kazakhstan worth over 30 billion dollars”.
Erdogan has said that Turkey and Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev have set a bilateral trade target of 15 billion dollars.
He has emphasized that strengthening cooperation in education, sports and culture remains a priority in deepening Turkey-Kazakhstan relations and has invited “our Kazakh brothers and sisters” to Ankara, which has been declared the Tourism Capital of the Turkish World for 2026 by the Organization of the Turkish States.
Emphasizing his visit on May 14 at the time of regional tensions and the fragile cease-fire in Gaza, Erdogan has said that the talks and the informal summit of the Turkish States will focus on expanding political, economic and cultural cooperation.
He has added that the Turkish countries will continue to work for “peace, prosperity and tranquility”, guided by the wisdom of Hoxha Ahmet Jesevi: “If the poor remain hungry while the rich shed no tears, the world is destined to collapse”.
