The Association of Prosecutors of Kosovo has expressed deep concern and has strongly condemned the threat made to the prosecutor of the Basic Prosecution in Mitrovica, Muharrem Prekazi, during the exercise of his official duty in a court session.

In a reaction, this association has said that any form of threat, pressure or intimidation against prosecutors due to the exercise of their constitutional and legal function represents a serious violation of the independence of the prosecutorial system and a direct attack on the rule of the law.

“The Association of Prosecutors of Kosovo considers that the safety and integrity of prosecutors are essential elements for the independent and efficient functioning of the justice system, so such cases must be treated with priority and full seriousness by the competent institutions.”, it says in the reaction.

Also, this association has expressed full professional and institutional support for prosecutor Prekazi, as well as for all prosecutors of the Republic of Kosovo, who, according to it, continue to practice their duty with professionalism, integrity and dedication, despite the pressures and challenges they face.

This threat has also been condemned by the Office of the Chief State Prosecutor. /Klankosova.tv
