Activities have been organized in Albania on the occasion of March 18, the Day of Remembrance of the Martyrs and the Victory of Çanakkale, Anadolu reports.
In the city of Shkodra, the ceremony of placing flower wreaths on the “Hasan Riza Pasha” monument took place, where the Turkish Ambassador in Tirana, Tayyar Kagan Atay, the military attaché of Turkey in Albania, Colonel Tolga Kip, the coordinator of the “Yunus Emre” Institute for Albania, Oguzhan Sakoglu, the coordinator of the Turkish Agency for Cooperation and Coordination (TIKA) in Tirana, Mustafa Ata, the prefect of Shkodra, Holta Duda, the deputy mayor of the Shkodra Municipality, Teuta Qyteza and representatives of the organizations.
Ambassador Atay in his welcoming speech said that they have gathered at the monument of Hasan Riza Pasha, the protector of Shkodra, in honor and commemoration of martyrs.
“The victory of Çanakkale is one of the most powerful symbols of the unwavering will that the Turkish people showed for independence and their homeland. This great effort has shown the whole world that our people in unity and togetherness can face any difficulty. The victory achieved in Çanakkale nourished the spirit of the independence struggle and ultimately paved the way to the establishment of our Republic”, he said.
Atay emphasized that the spirit that appeared in Çanakkale continues to illuminate not only the past, but also the future, according to him as a rare epic of sacrifice, heroism and courage. “That spirit holds its place in our memory as one of the most powerful testimonies that a people when necessary can stand upright in front of the whole world”, said Atay.
Ambassador Atay added that on this day they also commemorate the 105th anniversary of the adoption of the Turkish national anthem.
“Our ceremony unfortunately coincides with a difficult period during which conflicts are taking place in the Middle East. As the Republic of Turkey we wish that the attacks and clashes that still continue will end as soon as possible and we hope for the return of the diplomatic table for the restoration of regional and global peace. As our honorable president has also expressed, Turkey is ready to give the necessary contribution to the creation of the peace table”, said the Turkish ambassador. school.
The Turkish Agency for Cooperation and Coordination has previously donated 6 pianos to the “Prenk Jakova” Artistic School.
The same program was also held at the school of the Turkish Maarif Foundation in the city of Shkodra. The activities were organized under the auspices of the “Yunus Emre” Institute-Shkodër and with the support of other Turkish and Albanian institutions.
