The faithful gather in Mina before the climax of the Hajj to the holy places

Saudi authorities announced on Monday that pilgrims have fully arrived in the camp city of Mina, ahead of the annual sojourn to Mount Arafat, the pinnacle of the Hajj pilgrimage, which will take place on Tuesday, Anadolu reports.

Speaking at a press conference, Interior Ministry spokesman Talal bin Shalhoub said authorities have implemented “the first phase of the Hajj security plan smoothly and in full coordination.” with all agencies”.

He added that the arrival of the pilgrims in Mina was completed “with high efficiency in traffic flow”, as worshipers prepare to spend the night there before heading to Arafat on Tuesday.

Bin Shalhoub said preparations are being made on the ground to transfer the pilgrims from the holy city of Mecca to the plains of Arafat.

The Hajj rites officially began on Monday. with pilgrims arriving in Mina, western Saudi Arabia, amid extensive security services and measures aimed at facilitating the pilgrimage.

The six-day Hajj season includes a sojourn at Arafat on Tuesday, an overnight stay in Muzdalifah, a symbolic stoning ritual and a salutary circumambulation of the Grand Mosque in Mecca.

Rites consist of several actions that symbolize core concepts of the faith. Islam and commemorate the trials of Prophet Ibrahim and his family.

Saudi authorities announced on Friday that more than 1.5 million pilgrims from abroad had arrived for this year’s Hajj season.
