Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan received Sudanese Prime Minister Kamil Idris, who is on a working visit to Turkey, at the Presidential Complex in Ankara, reports Anadolu.
During the meeting, bilateral relations between Turkey and Sudan, as well as regional and global issues were discussed, Turkey’s Communications Directorate said on the Turkish social platform NSosyal.
Erdogan said that the two countries intend to further advance relations through existing steps and next, emphasizing that Turkey continues to strongly support the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Sudan.
The Turkish president also said that Ankara is working to help end the conflict in Sudan and restore normalcy, adding that Turkey supports diplomatic efforts to establish a ceasefire and launch a comprehensive political process.
Erdogan stressed that humanitarian aid aimed at alleviating the suffering of the Sudanese people will continue to increase during this period.
Turkish Vice President Cevdet Yilmaz, Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, Energy and Natural Resources Minister Alparslan Bayraktar, Agriculture and Forestry Minister Ibrahim Yumakli and Communications Director Burhanettin Duran also participated in the meeting.
