US President Donald Trump signaled on Friday that the end of the US-Israeli war on Iran is near, Anadolu reports.
“We have stopped them. They will never have nuclear weapons. And it will end soon. It will end soon,” Trump told supporters in New York state.
“You’re going to see numbers like never before, both in terms of growth and cost; you’re going to see that car prices will fall,” he added.
Earlier on Friday, Iran’s semi-official news agency reported that a Qatari delegation is negotiating with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi in Tehran, with a view to ending the war under Pakistani mediation.
The news came after Pakistan’s army chief, Feldmareshall Asim Munir, arrived in Tehran as part of ongoing mediation efforts. to end the war.
This is Munir’s second such visit to Tehran as part of Pakistan’s mediation efforts to end the war.
However, Pakistan’s Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has been in Tehran for two days as part of indirect talks between the US and Iran.
The increased diplomatic activity comes as negotiators are reportedly narrowing differences on a deal to to end the war.
Mediation efforts began when Pakistan secured a ceasefire on April 8, halting the war, and then hosted the highest-level talks between the US and Iran since 1979 on April 11–12.
Islamabad has intensified its mediation process to secure a second round of direct talks between the two sides.
