Israel raided Nablus and the Qalandia refugee camp in the West Bank

The Israeli army raided the city of Nablus and the Qalandia refugee camp in the West Bank today, in the latest escalation in the occupied territory, Anadolu reports.

Israeli forces entered Nablus through the Al-Murabba checkpoint and settled in the Al-Makhfiya and Ras al-Ain neighborhoods before advancing into the Old City, raiding and searching several houses, the sources said. Anadolu.

Several Palestinians were detained and questioned during the raid, they added. In a related development, the army deployed drones over the camp during the raid while circulating videos showed houses being raided and doors being forced open, amid high tensions among residents.

The Israeli army also carried out similar arrest operations in Al-Ram and Kafr Aqab settlements, according to witnesses. The Qalandia refugee camp lies along a main road connecting East Jerusalem and Ramallah and is located in an area that often experiences tensions between Palestinians and the Israeli military.

The West Bank has seen increased military operations and occupation attacks since October 2023, resulting in the killing of at least 1,154 Palestinians, the wounding of an estimated 11,750 others, and the arrest of nearly 22,000. Palestinians, official Palestinian data show.
