Chinese Premier Li Qiang said on Monday during a meeting with Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić that China is ready to continue strengthening cooperation with Serbia and be a reliable partner based on mutual friendship, reports Anadolu.

Li stressed that Beijing attaches great importance to marking the 10th anniversary of the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries, stressing that intensive contacts at the highest level in recent years have contributed to further development of bilateral relations.

He added that Chinese President Xi Jinping will present plans for further building a community with a shared future between China and Serbia later in the day.

“China is ready to continue working with Serbia as a partner of mutual friendship, to jointly protect our interests and deepen cooperation in various fields, so that our relations contribute to modernization and bring greater benefits for our peoples,” Li said.

Vucic said at the meeting that Serbia sees China as a sincere and reliable friend, stressing that Beijing consistently respects international law and the United Nations Charter.

“This is what Serbia values a lot and why you will always have our support, especially in the one-China principle and key foreign policy issues,” Vucic said.

He noted that the two countries are marking 70 years of friendly relations, which he described as an “iron friendship”, confirmed especially in difficult times.

Vučić also emphasized that Serbia admires China’s economic development, especially in the fields of modern technology, artificial intelligence and robotics, and expressed the expectation that cooperation in these sectors will improve further.
