During the first two weeks of 2026, a total of 1,883 fines were imposed in the Pristina region for various traffic offenses, as part of the Police’s commitment to increasing road safety.

According to the Police, one of the most frequent violations remains speeding, especially in the conditions of the winter season. Likewise, the number of unregistered vehicles remains worrying, where during this period 353 vehicles were identified that circulated without registration and without technical control, posing a serious risk to traffic safety.

The Regional Road Traffic Unit, although from January 1 to January 14, 2026, has been acting in the implementation of the “Winter Season” operational plan, due to the atmospheric conditions, police officials in coordination with officials of the relevant Ministry and road maintenance companies, have engaged in the regulation and management of road traffic, especially in areas where circulation has been difficult.

Parallel with these commitments, work has also been done to increase traffic safety. Only during the first two weeks of this year, in the region of Pristina, 1,883 fines were issued for various traffic offenses.

In addition to speeding, especially in winter conditions, from the collected statistics, a large number of unregistered vehicles remains a challenge, a total of 353, which represents a serious problem for traffic safety, as these vehicles circulate on the road without control. technician.
