The Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs of Albania, Ferit Hoxha, has stated that the images shared by the Israeli Minister of National Security, Itamar Ben-Gvir, which according to him show the humiliating treatment of the banned activists of the flotilla, are “shocking and unacceptable”, reports Anadolu.
In a reaction published on social networks, the chief diplomat of Albania has emphasized that all detained persons should be treated with dignity and respect full of human rights, international law and humanitarian law.
“I have instructed our Embassy in Tel Aviv to remain in close contact and coordination with the Israeli authorities in order to ensure that our citizens are provided with appropriate consular assistance, as needed and in full accordance with international law,” said Hoxha.
Ben-Gvir shared a video on his account on the American social network X that shows Israeli security forces mistreating activists in the port of Ashdod, where they are being held, a video which has caused many reactions.
The inhumane treatment of the Sumud Global Flotilla activists, who were detained by Israel in international waters, has caused reactions from many countries, including many member countries of the European Union (EU).
It is reported that an Albanian activist is among the detained activists.
