The Turkish Minister of Foreign Affairs, Hakan Fidan has stated that Turkey is working with all relevant institutions to ensure the safety and safe return of its citizens detained by Israel, after the illegal intervention against the Global “Sumud” flotilla that was headed towards Gaza, reports Anadolu.

On the Turkish social networking platform NSosyal, Fidan said that the special flights planned for later in the day are expected to return to Turkey the Turkish citizens as well as the participants of the humanitarian flotilla from third countries.

He emphasized that Turkey will continue to protect the rights of its citizens while fulfilling its humanitarian responsibilities towards civilians in Gaza.

Fidan also reaffirmed Ankara’s continued support for the Palestinian people.
