American media: Trump’s visit to China was accompanied by chaos and security disputes

US President Donald Trump’s visit to China this week was characterized by a series of confrontations involving Chinese officials, security personnel and members of the American media body, according to a news release on Thursday, reports Anadolu.

The New York Post reported that tensions escalated during several events that accompanied Trump’s summit with Chinese President Xi Jinping in Beijing.

One incident occurred during the bilateral meeting between Trump and Xi, when a large group of Chinese journalists rushed into the hall, knocking down a member of the White House preparatory staff.

According to the report, the aide was trampled during the commotion and suffered minor bruises, leaving her shocked.

Another dispute later occurred at the Temple of Heaven in Beijing, where Chinese officials reportedly refused to allow a the US Secret Service agent accompanying the group of presidential journalists, as he was carrying a firearm.

According to the report, the dispute caused a delay of about 30 minutes after US officials resisted demands that the agent surrender his weapon, which is standard procedure for the Secret Service.

The news also claims that US journalists faced strict movement restrictions throughout the visit, including bans on to join the presidential motorcade and limited access to official events.

The incidents are said to have added to the frustration within the US delegation, while Trump has continued to meet with Chinese officials in Beijing.
