The Spanish Prime Minister backs Barcelona star Lamine Yamal after criticism from the Israeli defense minister

The Spanish prime minister expressed support for footballer Lamine Yamal after accusations by Israel’s defense minister that the Barcelona star has “incited hatred towards Israel” due to public expressions of support for the Palestinians, reports Anadolu.

In a post on the American platform X, Pedro Sanchez said that those who consider flying a country’s flag to be “incitement to hatred” have either “lost their judgment, or are blinded by shame.”

“Lamine has only expressed the solidarity with Palestine that millions of Spaniards feel. One more reason to be proud of him,” added Sanchez.

Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz had accused Yamal of inciting “hatred against Israel”. La Liga, while around 750,000 people participated in the celebrations.
