NATO chief welcomes progress in securing “end of war in Ukraine”

NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte on Wednesday hailed progress on “the practical aspects of ensuring a just and lasting end to the war in Ukraine,” following a meeting of the Coalition of Volunteers for Ukraine in Paris, Anadolu reports.

Co-hosted on Tuesday by French President Emmanuel Macron and British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, the meeting focused on security guarantees and support for Ukraine and brought together leaders and officials high from 35 countries, NATO, the EU and Ukraine.

In Paris, Washington and European allies agreed to create a ceasefire monitoring mechanism for Ukraine under the leadership of the US, as part of a wider framework of security guarantees aimed at ensuring a lasting peace.
