The Acting President of Kosovo, Albulena Haxhiu, today hosted the members of the political entities in a meeting, who will discuss about setting the date for the parliamentary elections.
The first to arrive at this meeting is the chairman of the PDK, Bedri Hamza, as well as the deputy of the LDK, Jehona Lushtaku-Sadriu.
A day earlier, Haxhiu met with the chairman of the Central Election Commission, Kreshnik Radoniqi, to discuss the preparations related to the election process.
After this meeting, Radoniqi announced that June 7 is seen as the most suitable option for holding the elections. He emphasized that, according to the determinations of the Constitutional Court, the elections can be organized on May 31 or June 7.
“We consider June 7 as the most favorable date, however the final decision belongs to the president”, said Radoniqi.
He added that the official date will be set later, underlining the importance that the CEC has sufficient time for preparation. According to him, the budget for the organization of the elections is expected to be similar to that of the past processes.
