Farmers accuse the company “DRENA” of debts of up to 20 thousand euros since December: “We are on the verge of bankruptcy, we will block the roads”

Many farmers involved in milk production in Kosovo have raised serious concerns with the Drena company, claiming that they have not been paid for the milk delivered since December 2025.

According to the complaints sent to the editorial office of “Mitropol”, the farmers say that the company owes them significant financial sums, where each of them claims that there are over 15 thousand euros in unpaid payments for the supply of raw materials. first.

They state that the financial situation has become alarming and is directly affecting the operation of their farms. In the absence of payments, farmers say that they are facing serious difficulties to cover basic expenses, including the execution of salaries for workers.

“We have been forced to fire workers because we do not have the financial means to pay them. All our incomes depend on the payments that the company must make to us”, states the complaints of some farmers to “Mitropol”. while communication with them has become almost impossible.

Farmers claim to have the invoices issued to the company for milk supply, which, according to them, have not been executed since the end of last year. They also mention the name of Rrustem Rrukolli, who they say has repeatedly promised them that payments will be made “very quickly”, but without any concrete results so far.

In addition to payment delays, farmers have also expressed dissatisfaction with the reduction of compensation for milk units, based on the fat level, claiming that this has had an even greater impact on reducing their incomes.

They warn that, if the company does not fulfill its financial obligations in the following days, they will take protest measures, including blocking the roads.

“Mitropol” has also contacted the Drena company to take a position regarding the farmers’ claims. The request for an answer has been sent since Friday, but until the moment of publication of this article, no answer has been returned from the company.

Among other things, the Food and Veterinary Agency has found hundreds of KOS 200 gr products. of the company “Drena” Sh.P.K. dangerous for use during the inspection carried out in the company on March 14, 2025, where unsatisfactory results were obtained in the “Enterobacteria” hygiene criterion.

In this case, AUV obliged the company “Drena” Sh.P.K. with the owner, businessman Rrustem Rukolli, to withdraw this yogurt product from the market and to notify the AUV for its destruction.

We recall that Rukolli was also found guilty by the Basic Court in Pristina for the criminal offense of illegal mining activities in June 2021 after the indictment brought against him in 2018.

He was sentenced to a 3,600 euro fine for this criminal offense

In the indictment it was stated that on October 10, 2017, during the inspection of illegal mining activities by the inspectorate of the Independent Commission for Mines and Minerals (KPMM), it was established that N.N “R&Rukolli” Sh.p.k., with the owner, the responsible person Rrustem Rukolli, in order to benefit himself financially, had exercised illegal mining activity, so that permission for special activities from the competent body of the KPMM, had been made at the location of the mining facility, the factory for the production of concrete in the industrial area of the Municipality of Pristina. /Mitropol/
