Energy prices fall after US-Iran ceasefire

Brent futures fell by about 15 percent to $92.9 while West Texas Intermediate (WTI) oil was at $94.8, down 16 percent.

Oil prices fell sharply after today’s decision on a ceasefire between Iran and the US, reports Anadolu.

As of 06:15, Brent futures fell by about 15 percent to $92.9 while West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude was at $94.8, down 16 percent.

European natural gas prices fell about 20 percent to below 43 euros ($50). Heating oil prices fell 18 percent to $3.66 a gallon.

After Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif proposed a two-week ceasefire between Iran and the US, Trump said he agreed to “suspend the bombing and attacks on Iran for a two-week period”.

Sharif invited the Iranian and American delegations to Islamabad on Friday. “Washington and Tehran, along with their allies, have agreed to an immediate ceasefire in all areas of conflict,” he said.
