Shadows of a Gulf state as a “Trojan horse” in the Arab world

The European Parliament has revealed documents showing that the United Arab Emirates (UAE) paid millions to a company in Switzerland to carry out covert smear campaigns and negative propaganda across Europe. These campaigns targeted Islam, Muslims, mosques, journalists and politicians in 18 countries.

The 2023 dossier called “Abu Dhabi Secrets”, published by European Investigative Collaborations, confirms that the EBA paid millions to the Swiss company Alp Services from 2017 to 2020 to run disinformation campaigns targeting Muslims, mosques and other individuals in 18 countries.
