The Acting Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, paid tribute on the occasion of the 29th anniversary of the heroic fall of heroes Hakif Zejnullahu, Zahir Pajaziti and Edmond Hoxha.

Kurti before the media mentioned the contribution of Zahir Pajaziti and his comrades.

“Together with the President of Kosovo and the Deputy Speaker of the Assembly and with colleagues from the Government of the Assembly, and with activists from the movement, with fighters and former political prisoners, we placed fresh flowers here at the monument of Zahir Pajaziti in the square that bears his name. He was a tireless fighter throughout his life and at the same time a guerrilla with strong actions, in January 1997 killed by the Serbian forces because it was not possible otherwise. The enemy forces were so terrified of Zahir Pajaziti that only the trap, the well, the ambush, could give the occupying forces a chance to eliminate Zahir Pajaziti. Their fall also gave a tremendous boost to the ranks of the Kosovo Liberation Army. As we cannot understand our history the youngest without the Kosovo Liberation Army, similarly we cannot understand and learn about the Kosovo Liberation Army without the extraordinary figure of Commander Zahir Pajaziti. Every January we remember them, we remember them in order to remind ourselves of the high price we have paid for the state we have and the freedom we enjoy, but at the same time to express our commitment to the highest state responsibilities we have, that we will continue on the path of martyrs and martyrs of the nation, whose blood is in the foundations of the Republic of Kosovo. Glory to Zahir, Hakifi, Edmond and all the martyrs of the Albanian nation,” said Kurti. Meanwhile, the acting deputy speaker of the Assembly of Kosovo, Albulena Haxhiu, said that their sacrifice brought freedom to Kosovo. “Today, on the 20th anniversary of the fall of Zahir Pajazit, To Hakif Zejnullah and Edmond Hoxha, we paid tribute to three fundamental figures of the armed resistance and the Kosovo Liberation Army. They fell on the same day, on January 31, 1997, and gave a clear direction, a strong direction to the struggle for freedom. Zahir Pajaziti was one of the founders, but also one of the first organizers of the Kosovo Liberation Army, a person of high virtue. who believed and worked for the liberation of Kosovo. His sacrifice and that of Hakif Zejnullah will always remain in our glorious history, but also in the foundations on which the Republic of Kosovo stands today. Glory to the martyrs, glory to all those who fell for freedom.
