US President Donald Trump said Russia “needs to make a deal” with Ukraine, noting that both sides have lost “huge amounts of people” in the war since 2022, Anadolu reports.
“This is all absurd,” Trump said of the Russia-Ukraine war, adding: “So, yes, I’m going to do everything I can.”
Both sides have lost so many soldiers, “since World War II didn’t happen like that,” Trump said, referring to losses on both sides. “Russia lost huge amounts of people, and so did Ukraine. Last month, they lost 35,000 soldiers on a monthly basis, mostly young, beautiful people, and it’s crazy.” Trump.
“I talked to President Putin on Sunday, pretty much the same thing, they just keep going, keep fighting, losing soldiers, losing so many soldiers,” Trump added.
Trump said he had a “very good” meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy earlier today.
