According to the announcement, investigators and prosecutors are working in a coordinated manner to collect and analyze all relevant evidence, in order to clarify all aspects of the case and determine the eventual responsibility of the suspects, reports Klankosova.tv.
It is further announced that within the legal deadline, the Basic Prosecutor’s Office in Prizren will submit a request for the assignment of detention measures against Beshir Hamza and his father, in accordance with the legal procedures in force.
The arrest of the suspect’s father came because, according to this prosecution, it is suspected that he did not help the victim, after the stabbing.
By decision of the state prosecutor, the suspect B.H., has been detained for 48 hours, due to the well-founded suspicion that he committed the criminal offense of “Aggravated murder”, according to the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kosovo. Also, his father has been detained for 48 hours, due to the well-founded suspicion of committing the criminal offense of “Not providing assistance”, according to the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kosovo.
According to the Prosecutor’s Office, the incident took place on June 29, 2026, at around 11:15 PM in the village of Zlipotok in Dragash, and according to the prosecution, the victim, who was the imam of the village, is deprived of life with a sharp instrument (knife).
The authorities have emphasized that the investigations are still in an active phase and that at the moment no more details can be given, in order not to damage the investigative process and preserve its integrity.
The case remains under the treatment of the competent bodies, while new developments are expected in the following days after the completion of the initial investigative actions.
According to the announcement, the death of the victim was ascertained by the doctor at the scene, while the dead body was sent for autopsy to the Institute of Forensic Medicine (IML), in Prishtina.
“The Basic Prosecutor’s Office in Prizren, in cooperation with the Kosovo Police, is continuing intensive investigations to clarify the motives and full circumstances of this event. “Within the legal deadline, the Prosecutor’s Office will submit a request for determining the measure of detention against the suspects”, the announcement states.
