The National Institute of Public Health of Kosovo has called for the vaccination of children against measles, stressing that this disease is highly contagious and can cause serious complications, but it can be effectively prevented through the MMR vaccine.
To help parents and guardians receive accurate information based on scientific evidence, IKSHPK has published an informative material with answers to the most frequently asked questions about measles and the MMR vaccine.
According to institute, the material includes information on the way measles spreads, the symptoms and complications of the disease, the safety and effectiveness of the MMR vaccine, the vaccination schedule according to the regular calendar in Kosovo, as well as clarifications about the most widespread myths and misinformation about this vaccine.
IKSHPC has called on citizens to read and share the informative material with family and friends, in order for as many parents as possible to be properly informed and contribute to the protection of children and the community from measles.
