Deputy from the ranks of the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK), Avdullah Hoti, has announced that he does not support Bekim Sejdi’s candidacy for president of the country.
Hoti said that this has nothing to do with personal reasons, but with a political and institutional principle.
“The President of the Republic must be a unifying figure, who builds consensus beyond party interests and represents the general interest of citizens. In my estimation, this candidacy does not fulfill this criterion,” said Hoti.
Furthermore, he said that this candidacy does not reflect the political and principled interests of the LDK.
“At the same time, this candidacy does not reflect the political and principled interests of the Democratic League of Kosovo and its electorate. On the contrary, the way this solution has been imposed creates the impression that the LDK has also prevented other political candidacies, just to pave the way for a candidacy that, basically, it is also political”, he continued.
Bekim Sejdiu was proposed today by LDK and LVV as a candidate for the president of the country.
