Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud has warned that Israel’s recognition of the separatist region of Somaliland aims to destabilize Somalia and the region, accusing Israel of exporting its problem from Gaza to Somalia.

The Somali president revealed that Israel gave Somaliland three conditions in exchange for recognizing Somaliland and that Somaliland accepted these conditions. Israel demanded the settlement of Palestinians in Somaliland, the creation of an Israeli military base on the coast of the Gulf of Aden, and the joining of Somaliland to the so-called Abraham Accords.

“If the three Israeli demands that Somaliland accepted are met, it will open a Pandora’s Box for evil in the world,” the Somali president warned in an interview with Al Jazeera, adding that Israel has a long-standing presence in Somaliland.
